Tough, but Rewarding Season

Spring is finally here, and brings us another great reason to be outdoors. Turkey hunting is a true passion for me; the anticipation for the upcoming season, getting up at 5:00 in the morning, calling, and the actual harvest are all a thrill. This spring season seems to be a difficult one so far, I did manage to get a bird on opening day, but I have been hunting most days with friends and family and have had little luck. but I guess that is all part of it. I just love being in the outdoors and enjoying Gods creation. Good luck to everyone and I hope you all have a successful season.

Youth Turkey Hunting – Chills Down the Spine!

The spring woods are coming alive and there is no better time to be in nature. New life is upon us. It is a great time for kids to be involved in a turkey hunt. The adventure of the hunt starts when you can hear the turkey gobbles in the distance. As they get closer, chills begin to run up the spine, and excitement begins to build. Now the turkey is talking back and coming in for a shot. Turkey hunting teaches the child to be quiet and patient. Sometimes it takes awhile for a turkey to come in, but other times, it might show up without any warning. The reward for shooting a turkey is priceless. Eager and thrilled, the child can measure the spurs and beard and can mount the turkey feathers as a summer project to hang in their bedroom. The child involved will have memories that will be cherished for a lifetime. It is always great for the older generation to pass on their skills and techniques to the younger generation as they begin to encounter the great outdoors.
